| The ICC Flashloader Utility is a Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT/2000 PC application that allows customers to update the flash firmware of their communication interfaces. Firmware updates may be released for a number of reasons, such as bug fixes, customer modification requests or feature enhancements. |
 |
The ICC Flashloader Utility is used to update the firmware of the following products:
EXT-DEVICENET - Toshiba Dual External DeviceNet Interface
PBDP-110 - ICC Dual External Profibus Interface |

1. The installation package is contained in a self-extracting .EXE file which can be obtained below. To extract the compressed files, either open the .EXE file directly when prompted, or save it to a temporary folder on your computer and then run it.
2. Open the folder where the extracted files were placed (the default location is C:\ICC\FLASHLDR).
3. Read the README.TXT file for any important installation notes prior to starting installation.
4. Run SETUP.EXE. This will start the installation wizard and will guide you through the steps required to complete the installation.
5. After installation is complete, the original extracted installation files may be deleted.
|
| Once installed, the FlashLoader utility can be used to check the application firmware version of communication interfaces as well as to download new application firmware. This is accomplished by connecting the MMI cable received with the communication interface kit from the serial port of PC on which the FlashLoader utility is installed to the MMI port of the interface unit. |
| Flash firmware files carry the extension ".ICX", and are included with Board Support Package (BSP) releases. |
| For safety reasons, firmware updates should only be performed when the system in which the communication interface resides is stopped, as the communication interface will cease network communications while it is downloading and updating its flash image. |
| While downloading to the unit, the LED on the communication interface's MMI port will blink rapidly, indicating that communication with the FlashLoader utility is taking place. Once the download is complete, the communication interface will automatically reset itself, and the new application firmware will begin operating. The MMI cable can then be removed and the system restarted. |
